Water Eject

It is a safe, non-damaging way to clean your iPhone, and it can help prevent long-term damage.

Using the Shortcut Water Eject

The iPhone’s water-resistant features are great for protecting the device from unexpected splashes, spills and even impromptu dips into water. However, these unexpected moments can still take their toll on your device, particularly if your phone is left submerged in liquid for a prolonged period of time. In these situations, the Water Eject Siri Shortcut feature can help to mitigate the effects of water damage by pushing out trapped water from your speaker grills using sound vibrations.

The shortcut is easy to use, with a simple interface that’s designed for non-tech savvy users. With just a few taps, you can activate the ejection process. In seconds, the shortcut will begin to play low-frequency sounds that’ll displace the water inside of your device’s speakers. This method is a lot quicker than waiting for your device to dry out naturally, and it’ll also restore your audio quality much more quickly.

To get started, you’ll need to download and install the Water Eject Siri Shortcut from the App Store on your iPhone. Once you’ve downloaded the shortcut, open the Shortcuts Gallery and tap “Get Shortcut”. Select “Water Eject” and tap Start. Upon first running the shortcut, you’ll need to give the shortcut permission to access your phone’s settings. You’ll also need to set a password so that only you can run the shortcut in the future.

Once the shortcut is installed, you can activate it from the Shortcuts Gallery by tapping it or dictating the command to Siri. If you’ve enabled Hey Siri, you can also use the voice command to launch the shortcut directly from your home screen.

The Water Eject shortcut uses an ultra-low frequency sound wave of 165 Hz to expel moisture from the speaker cavity system. As such, the shortcut will only work on the latest iPhone models that support the Siri Shortcuts feature.

Once you’ve activated the Water Eject shortcut, you can choose the intensity level that best suits your needs. A lower intensity will only push out water from your speaker grills, while a higher intensity level will cause the shortwave to displace water all over your iPhone. Regardless of the setting, the Water Eject shortcut will only run for about 15 seconds before it shuts itself off.

Activating the Shortcut Water Eject

Although most modern iPhones are water resistant, accidents do happen, and a quick tip that can help prevent potential damage is to use a special shortcut to eject any water trapped inside the device’s speakers. The iPhone Water Eject Shortcut is available on the free Shortcuts app, and is designed to work with Apple’s premium phones that are rated IP67 or higher for resistance to dust, dirt, and water. It is simple to use, and can be activated either by voice or manually. It is not a replacement for professional repairs, however, as frequent exposure to moisture can degrade the quality of an iPhone’s audio components over time.

The Water Eject shortcut works by playing a low-frequency tone of 165Hz for around 12 seconds. This sound wave causes the speaker to vibrate, which can dislodge and push out any water particles that are lingering in the speakers. This method is well known to be effective in pushing out moisture from speakers, and is a common recommendation for dealing with water-damaged electronics. It is also safe to use, as compared with shaking the phone or using heat, which could potentially cause further harm.

To use the shortcut, tap on its icon in the Shortcuts app or activate it via Hey Siri. If you are using the voice activation feature, you can simply say, “Hey Siri, water eject,” and it will prompt you to begin the process. Once the process is complete, you will receive a notification that indicates that all the moisture has been removed from your speaker grills.

As an alternative, you can also play any 165Hz sound clip from YouTube to achieve the same effect without needing to download and install a special Shortcuts app. However, it is important to note that the Water Eject shortcut only works with Apple’s water resistant phones, which began with the iPhone 5S in 2013, and that it can only dislodge moisture from the speaker grilles, and not from other internal components.

Since the Water Eject shortcut is only available in the Shortcuts app, it must be downloaded and installed before you can use it. To do this, open the Settings app, then scroll down to find and tap “Shortcuts.” Then, select the + Add Shortcut button. From here, you can search for and find the shortcut, then tap on it to add it to your home screen or widgets library.

Adjusting the Intensity Water Eject

Apple’s AirPods feature a handy trick for pushing water out of the buds. When they’re submerged in water, a special tone is played, creating vibrations that may help push the water from the speaker holes. Apple’s Shortcuts app also has a similar shortcut that’s designed to do the same thing on iPhone, though you have to jump through some hoops to get it working. To use the water eject shortcut on your iPhone, you’ll need to add it to the Shortcuts app and choose your preferred intensity. The shortcut will play a low-frequency tone at the selected intensity until all the water is pushed out.
